If you want to stay up-to-date on the latest trends in cookware designs, we are pleased to share with you a report of what F.B.M. has been able to observe during its participation in recent international trade fairs. We took part in Ambiente in Frankfurt, ABUP in São Paulo and the International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago.
From our location on the exhibitors’ floor, we were able to discover the latest and most intriguing in 2019 cookware trends! Here you'll find an overview of the most interesting and relevant trends we have seen in homewares and cookwares.
It’s important to keep a finger on the pulse of the latest trends making a splash on the international scene. Whether your next goal includes updating a bestselling collection or launching a new line, you’ll want to understand current market trends.
Some Cookware Trends to Watch For
Professional & Premium look:
Consumers will be looking for professional-grade pots and pans they can use at home. They want to imitate the chefs they see on cooking shows with large-diameter pots that are equipped with sturdy handles. The entire cookware collection should be over-sized and heavy enough to reflect quality.
Stackable and Space save:
Functionality is an important consideration for modern homeowners. Kitchen space is often at a premium, which means features such as whether the cookware is easy to stack at home, go to the top of the list for many.
Pastel Palette and Matte Effect:
This year’s colors are focused on soft, almost natural tones. Nothing about them is harsh. Instead they have a fresh, young look that has its own sense of elegance. Often, we are seeing them in a matte finish that isn’t afraid of showing a few imperfections. It gave a vintage, well-worn look.
Materic Materials:
We saw that natural elements held a very strong influence on 2019 cookware trends and that different types of materials can convey different impressions. Designers weren’t hesitant about including streaks and veins that are indicative of raw materials in their offerings.
Marble:
Marble is a natural material that gives off a tremendous visual impact. It’s a very valuable material that is highly durable. We saw it well placed on some kitchen accessories. Marble is being well introduced to homewares and is coming to cookware, where we believe it will be a very popular choice with consumers.
Mediterranean Blue:
Mediterranean blue was a strong color this year. We noticed it showing up in multiple categories at the international trade fairs, with its note of color that refers to the sea world.
Wood & Green Inspiration:
There were many instances wood is being shown in combination with various shades of green. This theme fits in with the idea of bringing nature into the home, as well as making home a place where its occupants can relax and get away from the world outside.
Valuable Metals:
Gold, silver and copper were also featured in all categories at the international trade fairs. These precious metals were used to adorn furniture, decorations and gifts. We also noticed precious metals adding their distinctive look to cutlery, pottery as well as pots and pans, also in different and new versions.
