by La Termoplastic F.B.M. on 5 Dec 2023

As La Termoplastic F.B.M., an epitome of Made in Italy, proudly commemorates its 60th anniversary, it does so with a vision that unites three generations in a grand industrial endeavor. This company specializes in producing handles, side handles, knobs, and accessories for cookware, all while embracing innovation and tackling the challenges of an increasingly discerning and competitive market.

This 60-year milestone is more than just a celebration; it's a tribute to the founders, Francesco and Bruno Munari, whose vision ignited a legacy of excellence that continues to burn brightly today.

To honor this momentous occasion, we have embarked on a special project - a book that narrates our journey from the inception by our visionary founders to the remarkable transformations that have shaped us into the global company we are today. This book is not just a testament to our history but a roadmap for the future, projecting our unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability.” said Emanuela Munari, FBM Group President.

The book starts from the narrative of Luciana and Valeria Berto, the two sisters who married the brothers Francesco and Bruno Munari and, together with them, started this journey.
This story begins with a motto that only the founders could launch, "never be afraid” Enjoying their words, the reader is offered with a sense of tireless commitment, deep dedication, and constant pursuit of excellence. But above all, the values that have shaped its journey: integrity, solidarity, responsibility, and love for one's work and the community it serves.

Where Innovation Meets Design: F.B.M.'s Recipe

La Termoplastic F.B.M. stands as a global player in manufacturing cookware handles and accessories. Since its founding in 1963, the company has been a relentless force in the world of cookware accessories, creating products that are not only functional but also a testament to Italian style and craftsmanship.

The F.B.M. brand has become synonymous with innovation, boasting a rich portfolio of over 200 patents that have reshaped the cookware industry. These patents are an indication of F.B.M.'s commitment to redefining an essence of cookware, harmonizing both form and function. Each product is born from the visionary minds at F.B.M.'s in-house design center and nurtured by its research and development departments, making the company a pioneer in the field.

However, the story doesn't stop with innovation alone. Under the guidance of the second generation, the company's international expansion became a reality. F.B.M.: A Journey through Vision and Sustainability

F.B.M.'s journey has been a continuum, a series of interconnected milestones leading to its present role as a champion of sustainability and a unique cookware’s handles experience.

This voyage is marked in 1970, with the filing of the company's first patent for an innovative detachable cookware handle, marking the beginning of a path dedicated to improving the functionality of kitchen tools.

In 1975, the entry of the new generation infused fresh ideas and a drive to explore foreign markets. F.B.M. set sail to international expos, paving the way for a global presence. The vision to export Italian excellence became a reality.fwgfwqefqwIn 1995, the inauguration of a cutting-edge, highly automated headquarter marked a significant step in technology and innovation, ensuring the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry.

At the end of the ‘90 the company's focus on international expansion continued, bringing Italian creativity and excellence to foreign shores. This was followed by the achievement of UNI EN ISO 9001 quality certification in 1999, highlighting F.B.M.'s dedication to quality and safety.

The year 2000 witnessed the establishment of F.B.M. in Brazil, marking the first foreign production facility. This was followed by an expansion into Mexico in 2006, covering North, Central, and South America. In 2014, the company ventured into China, with a third direct foreign production facility catering to the Far East.

These milestones are enriched in 2020 with the release of the first Corporate Social Responsibility report and in 2022 with the prestigious UL Environmental Claim Validation, an acknowledgment of F.B.M.'s new dedication to sustainable production. 60 Years of Rebirth and Excellence

As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we extend our deepest gratitude to our employee, our customers, our consumers and all our valued stakeholders who have been with us throughout this incredible journey. Your unwavering trust and support have been the wind beneath our wings, propelling us to new heights.

The number 60 holds particular significance in China, known as "One JiaZi (甲子)," a traditional Chinese dating method, where ten TianGan and twelve Dizhi are opposite each other, forming a cycle of sixty years. After sixty years, everything comes full circle to JiaZi. This is why we refer to 60 years as a "REBIRTH," aligning perfectly with our company's post-pandemic spirit and vision of growth.

It is a rebirth that encompasses all the ups and downs, joys and sorrows we've experienced in the past 60 years. We have weathered 60 years of challenges and triumphs, and the number 60 signifies today a new beginning, reflecting our company's unwavering commitment to evolving and innovating.

With the 60th anniversary celebration as a beacon, we look back at the remarkable journey that has led us here. Our legacy of innovation, Italian design, and a relentless pursuit of excellence has not only shaped our brand but has also made us a recognized partner of all main cookware players around the world.

This celebration is not just a look back but a glimpse of what lies ahead. As we embrace the 60th anniversary with immense joy, we see it as only the beginning of what promises to be many more years of success. Together, we will continue to innovate, inspire, and shape the future of cookware. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey.
